(None of these are ours or us)
It's simply the tough parts of our life for the moment.
So in the past month, we have had quite the ride. We first sold the Camry (yay!). A week later, Cam was driving to work and hammered a deer in the Montero (Friday the 13th BTW), $5600 worh of damage, it is what it is. We were down to 0 cars, but that lasted a whole 18 hours as we had someone actively looking for a new van for us. He found us a Nissan Quest. So everything worked out for the better.
In that time, we were able to borrow a car from Amy's brother (thanks D) and had lots of help from friends and family as the Montero was being fixed. So things are good now especially since we got the Montero back. 2 cars are great!
Fast forward to today April 15th. Amy picks Cam up at 4:00 from the park and ride. The pull out onto Thanksgiving Way to turn up SR-92 to go to the kids dentist appointment. At a red light we were just fine until it turned green. Then KABLAM, some moron decides to rear end us. Serioulsy!
Cam gets out and checks the bumper and there is not too much damage mainly scratches and a broken bracket, but as it is the new van he decides that he would rather have the opinion of a cop. So Amy calls the police while Cam is out talking to the dummy that hit us. His excuse for hitting us was because he dropped his flippin Rockstar and he needed to pick it up. He thought we had left, but sure enough we hadn't. (We think he's full of it, because he hit us much harder than how he described it.) We pull into the gas station, wait for the police and get on with life. (Cam's thoughts while waiting for the police are: crazy hippy who's a liar, unintelligent and inconsiderate considering he lit up his cigerette and started smoking right to me. Jeesh, some of us don't enjoy cigarette smoke blown into our face.)
The saddest part was that we had to tell Kason that we might not make it to the dentist. That kid was super sad. Man, I've never seen a kid cry because he couldn't go to the dentist. Luckily, the cop was quick and we made it to the dentist.
5:00 PM. Phew, Kason is happy and rarin to go. Next, both boys did well with the exams and xrays. Bad news, Kason has a small cavity that needs to be taken care of. Oh well, it is what it is eh?
7:00 PM. Fast forward to later in the day after we have done some shopping. We are going to Derek's house to drop off some FFH stuff. Cam turns up the street, sees a cop and knows he was going to fast. Dang it, 40 in a 25. The cop was nice, ticket for only 5 over. Oh well, it is what it is.
Life just doesn't stop throwing the Kawas curveballs, but at least we are fouling a couple of them off.
Yes, our luck doesn't seem great, but Amy and I have decided that it's not important enough to worry about all this trivial stuff. When some feel as though God is not blessing them, we have decided to look at it a different way. God has blessed us, maybe he saved us from a horrible accident that could have happened if we weren't in the accident. Maybe Kason just needs a little inperfection as he is sometimes too perfect. Maybe I needed that ticket in order to stop the car because of another accident that we could have been in. Only God knows.
We just know that we are so blessed and that so many people care for us. Yes, sometimes life blows, but some of these things just don't matter. As Easter has passed, we have really come to understand the whole plan that the Savior has played in our lives. Yes we wish we were millionaires, without debt, without Kellen's hospital stays, without dead deer hair in our car, with a perfect new van, with a tumbleweedless yard, but that is just not the plan for us at this time.
Our life is just so humerous. We really have learned to laugh off the bad times. Life is what it is. You can either be ticked that bad luck happens or just let it roll off your back and enjoy it as it comes. God blesses those who endure his tests and challenges. We consider ourselves very lucky as it could always be worse. Again we have been very blessed with great boys, a good house, a good job, awesome family and friends, a caring Savior and much more.

So sorry about everything, but what a great attitude to have. God does give us challenges to see who we will turn to. Thanks for sharing.
Well put Cam. Spoken like a true future Bishop. =)
Yeah funny. You keep thinking that Emily while I keep wearing my ankle socks and stop shaving the 5 hairs on my face. Haha.
Man, I cannot believe you guys. It is seriously one thing after another. I am glad you can laugh about it though. Glad Kason got to make it to the dentist.
What a great post! You guys are looking at things the right way.....I really should start doing that. It is way less depressing to laugh things off!
What did the cop say?Did the Rockstar drinker get a big ugly ticket?
Dont' be offended if I never let you borrow one of my cars!!!! You have some real luck with cars!
I do like the positive spin on the crappy luck! Glad everyone is ok!
I'm just happy you got a sweet van out of the whole ordeal. Did the guy get a ticket?
I have no idea if the guy got a ticket because the cop let us leave before the other guy finished all of his paperwork. I hope so, because he damaged my new van...
Reading this made me think that you guys have kind of the same luck with cars and stuff, that is what usually happens to us. But it is awesome the way you think so positive too. Life is great, isn't it ?
That post was very entertaining Some times life just blows! Amy your kids are so cute! It will be fun to keep up with you!
