What was going to be a really awesome week in Idaho with my sister, Jenny, turned out to be a weekend in the hospital with Kellen for his seventh hospitalization. He had a little bit of a runny nose on Wednesday and woke up wheezing on Thursday and by mid day he was having such a hard time breathing we ended up in at the hospital. I started out at Jordan Valley hospital with him in the ER for a few hours when they decided he definitely had to be hospitalized, but they didn't have the ability to take care of him there and he was going to have to go by ambulance to Primary Children's. While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, Kellen started throwing up uncontrollably. He threw up so much that he started dry heaving. (not sure if that's how to spell that) It was so hard to watch my little baby going through that because I know how bad that feels. It was taking his whole body to try and throw up and there just wasn't anything to throw up. His respiratory rate was too high, so they wouldn't let him eat or drink anything. Luckily, once in the ambulance he was pretty upbeat. Once at Primary's, we had to go through the ER, so another 3 hours in the ER for them to tell me he has to be admitted. He had a pretty good night, but the dr said he was still having too hard of a time breathing to go home, but luckily throughout the day, he turned a corner and started doing better. The Dr said we were ok to go home on Friday evening since we had done this so much that we would know if he wasn't doing ok. Even though he still isn't doing very good, it is nice to be home with him where he isn't stuck inside a crib all day. Every time we do this, it is definitely really hard on our family, but also really humbling. We have been so blessed because there are so many kids that are just so sick and may never get better. It just hurts my heart to see all of the sick kids that don't know anything outside of the hospital. Luckily for Kellen it only lasts about a week every 3 months or so. Heavenly Father has blessed our family so much. We are also are so lucky to have such great family and friends. Thanks for all of the help and prayers that every did in our behave. We really are so blessed. Sorry these pics aren't the best. They were taken with the camera on my phone which isn't very good.

Kellen's first ride in an ambulance. (sorry this pic is so blurry)

Kellen was so excited to not have the oxygen cannula up his nose for a while, but he still had plenty of cords.

Poor kid, we hope he is feeling a 100% soon, and that we can have a fun visit from him in the near future.
Man he has a Kawa head. Look at that noggin. It reminds me of So I Married an Axe Murderer.
I'm so sorry! That is ruff! Poor little guy, mom, dad , and brother! I'm glad that he got to come home so fast, but how do you sleep at night after you bring him home?

Poor little angel. It is so hard to watch your baby be sick, I am glad that things turned around and you were able to take him home.
Poor little guy. Love the carseat in the ambulance though - makes for cute moments. I hope he will do better. You are right, you have been blessed!
Poor little guy, I feel so bad for him, and for you. I don't know how you do it, it would be so hard to see your kid that sick. Oh and I would love to cut your hair, but that would mean you would have to come to Logan and spend the day. You should seriously think about doing that.
love you Kel
